Message from the Principal

“Learning is not attained by chance; it must be sought for with ardour and diligence.”

–Abigail Adams

I welcome you into the fold of the AVN family!

The AVN Group of Institutions – with its distinctive identity, is a torchbearer of the modern education system, committed to developing the minds and initiatives of children, since 1985.

As the founder principal of AVN Agastya International School, I take great pride in being a part of this progressive initiative.

With the arrival of new information and communication technologies to schools, both new teaching methodologies as well as new versions of existing methodologies, now revised and updated for the digital generation, have emerged. It is clear we have entered a new era and as we look to the future, at AIS, we explore changes in our academic attentions and in our curriculum. Curriculum can be understood as an umbrella term that encompasses all planned and unplanned experiences provided in a school. At AIS, the curriculum is designed keeping in consideration both the macro perspective, covering national and institutional agenda and objectives, and micro perspectives, outlining the optimum conditions for teaching and learning to take place in the classroom. CONNECT, EXTEND and CHALLENGE – Students are encouraged to connect new learnings with what they already know or do, then to extend their understanding and practice and finally to experience and challenge their understanding to crystallize their thinking. Learning outcomes are set to equip students to be able to engage the abstraction of thoughts and ideas as readily as applying knowledge-based reasoning.

An established fact, multidimensional parental support involving commitment of time and providing resources towards children’s learning, in collaboration with the school and community enables the children gain better education outcomes. At AIS, imparting of education extends and morphs into providing of nurturance with an endeavour to bring forth the true value of learning and making education more relevant and empowering. We value collaboration with family and community, immensely, placing our children squarely at the centre of the curriculum.

As we navigate the challenges and opportunities of the coming year, I encourage all to embrace the spirit of collaboration and teamwork to help us create a vibrant learning environment for our children.

We look forward to a wonderful school year ahead!
